Time for a small Sephora haul
When in New York one of the two things most of us love to do, is eat and shop.
Stores like Sephora are every makeup junkie’s heaven. But I knew I was on a budget so I wanted to be even more selective when I went to New York what shops I wanted to shop in.
I have been to Sephora before in San Francisco, when I was on a mission to buy the Sephora by OPI nail polish in metro chic (anyone remembers that nail polish?). My experience at Sephora has been the enjoyable one, as I didn’t feel pressured to buy anything and if I need help it was offered when I need it.
Sephora, Walgreens, CVS and Rite Aid are popular stores in the states. So getting hold of brands like Kat Von D in the UK even though not impossible to get hold of (now launching in Debenhams), I wanted to try out before I buy.
When choosing what I wanted, I narrowed it down to what I would wear as opposed to what was on trend.
Sephora – Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick – Bow N Arrow and Lolita 1 now available in the UK at Debenhams CVS – Maybelline Matte Poreless – 340 Cappuccino. Makeup brush – By Zoeva 102/silk finish
Continuing my goal of trying out popular brands, like Anastasia Beverley Hills Brow Wiz in Dark brown. Like this formula as it long wearing looks natural and doesn’t’ look oily at the end of the day.
Clinique – Take the day off Cleansing Oil – Still trying this one out. Wondering if this will work on my combination/oily skin. I feel more of a winter makeup remover.
Another one of those last minutes pick up travel size products at the counter I have been curious about. Thought it was time to try out and get my facial cleanser act together, by purchasing the 90ml travel size cleanser by Philosophy.
Giorgio Armani Perfume Rollerball
Always wanted to try out the rollerball perfumes that Sephora have. After many minutes of sniffing samples, Georgio Armani Acqua di Gioia Rollerball suited my body chemistry. It has a warm freshness of pineapple and citrus notes which isn’t too overpowering.
Overall my advice when shopping either online especially when on a trip. If you are going to shop for beauty products, have an idea what you want in mind, as it can get a bit overwhelming. Once decided, stick to your budget.
Have you tried out any of the products I picked up when I was in New York? What else have you tried and would recommend? Also, subscribe to more blog posts about what I got up to in New York.
