Winter Skincare 2017
It’s that time of year when your skin needs some extra loving. Wind, cold, rain, are just a few of the problems that the weather can cause to make skin more dry and irritable.
My skin is definitely combination to oily. I find I need to add more moisture in the wintertime.
As I have been suffering from very dehydrated skin this winter. I have been relying on my favourite repeat purchased products to get me through the cold season. Here are some favourites I have found have saved from drying out.
1.Clinique Take the day off cleansing oil | 2. Garnier Body Oil – Oil-Infused Nourishing Lotion | 3. Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream | 4. Bioderma Stick Hydratant | 5. L’Oreal Pure Clay Detoxifying Mask | 6. Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Eye.
The first issues I was experiencing was chapped lips. The lip balm I had been using for a couple of years was not moisturising my sore lips enough. A few reviews and YouTube review recommendations later, I opted for the Bioderma stick Hydratant. A bit more expensive than the average lip balm, but I felt it was worth it. I noticed the improvement of the skin on my lips almost in a matter of hours.
Eyes & Face
Since using Kiehl’s products last year, I noticed my combination skin was very thirsty and in dryer need of moisture. After a few months of using the Ultra Face and Night Recovery eye, I have seen a vast improvement around delicate under eye area.
I heard many good things about the Clinique take the day off. I have used it for awhile to remove my makeup, and I have noticed that this doesn’t strip my skin like some makeup wipes do. Even though an oil, it can also moisturise and I notice a difference in my skin the next day. I think I will buy the balm version next time, as I can have far more control on how much to distribute.
As a weekly or as and when treat, I enjoy using the L’Oreal detox mask. This mask doesn’t dry out my skin and is great to use to help unclog pores after using products like cream and oils daily which can build up over time.
Lost how many times I have repurchased the Garnier Body Oil lotion. I find this keeps my skin moisturised the longest throughout the day. Would recommend if you don’t want a non-greasy lotion.
