Royal College of Art Fashion Show 2017
After attending the final shows of the Graduate Fashion Week at the Truman Brewery recently, I was fortunate to also be invited to attend the MA Postgraduates at the Royal College of Art Show 2017. I was excited to see what the designers would come up with for the RCA Fashion Show for 2017.
RCA is known for having many innovative and talented designers each year. As this was my first time attending this show, even though I didn’t know what to expect, I knew I wouldn’t be disappointed.
As well as the main catwalk show which was split into two parts, there was just enough time to see more installations on the upper and basement floors of number 2 Chance Street Shoreditch.Rose Frances Danford – Philips
I loved seeing the collections up close and what was even better, you had the opportunity to speak with the designers about their thinking and ideas either the same night or the next morning.
This was an exciting time and great opportunity for the designers to showcase their final year collections to buyers, media and the public for the first time. Each exhibition space the designer was given was used imaginatively and in a playfully way to showcase their collections.
You know when you are having a great time when before you know it the show was over. Just wish there was a little more time to view every graduate’s collection in person.
Thank you to Royal College of Art for inviting me, I hope to revisit again soon. Good luck to all the designers who participated in their new careers.
