Blogger Workshop, Year of the Rooster & A Bite to Eat

Weekend | 28th & 29th January 2017

Saturday Afternoon

It’s the weekend so staying in bed is preferable, especially when it is cold and frosty outside. I find I have to motivate myself, even more, this time of the year, or I will want to just stay under the covers until spring.

First stop at the weekend was to attend the workshop ‘How to grow your Social Media Following’, organised by the lovely ladies at The Bloggers Hub. Great advice from like-minded and some new bloggers like myself, who are finding ways to best use social media to encourage new people to follow their social media platforms.

Saturday Evening

After an afternoon of brainstorming and networking, a girl has to eat. I met up with my boyfriend in Shoreditch and had a long overdue mac n cheese at the Pizza East nearby. A place I wanted and meaning to check out for ages was Barber & Parlour on Redchurch Street Shoreditch. Has rustic charm, plenty of sofas to relax, grab a coffee and to relax. Will definitely be returning.

Sunday Lunch

A little window shopping at the perfumers Miller Harris in Covent Garden.  Happy Chinese New Year: 2017 Year of the Rooster. More actual shopping and less window shopping at Kiehl’sOne of the many places I wanted to check out after I wrote ‘Destination Travel’ and reading Eat Like a Londoner by Tania Ballantine, I was on a mission to go to almost all of the places recommended.

The French Bistro restaurant Balthazar was first on the list of places for us to visit. I know going on the busiest time of the weekend was crazy, but this place is popular and busy all of the time. We didn’t have to wait long for our table. Very traditional décor, distressed mirrors, dark wood counters and tiled flooring. In the heart of Covent Garden. Worth booking in advance.

So that was the weekend.

What did you get up to on your weekends? Do you have any recommendations on what, where to go next?
