Tabletop Décor Spring/Summer 2018
Longing for warm spring and summer days? While we are not quite there just yet over this side of the pond, with 53 days till it’s official spring, if you are like me and so over winter, a way to put a smile back our faces is by interjecting colour into our home décor makes us feel more relaxed and content.
To lift those winter blues and bring a lighter shade of blue into our every day, I was invited to preview Sainsbury’s latest Home collections SS18, so see what ideas they had for the up and coming season ahead.
If you read ‘The Patterned & the Bold’, this season’s trend is all about the bold and simply a continuation from the catwalk to home décor.
There is plenty of lifestyle home accessories and furniture ideas and themes. Sainsbury’s Home has focused and taken theme inspiration focusing primarily on travel and the greater outdoors with names like Rivera and palm house, the collections immediately added a holiday relaxed spring and summer vibe into your home even if you live in a one bedroom apartment in the city.
The 2018 trend for tabletop design for plates, cutlery and glassware has been turned on its head and doing away with contemporary simple pure white ceramics we still know and love. Instead, loud leaf print and unapologetic colours are on trend, as well as bold colour statements.
I was aware that Sainsbury’s Home had some interesting affordable tabletop ideas, but their design team differently stepped it up a gear and made colourful plates more acceptable as well as exciting to use every day.
