With Fashion & Lifestyle Youtuber Lydia Elise Millen
It takes a lot for me to get drawn in by the hype and publicity from new beauty product launches, with Victoria Beckham and Fenty by Rihanna on everyone’s social media radar, it’s kind of difficult to ignore.
I’m the kind of person who likes to wait and see after everyone has tried, tested and reviewed a product before I part with my cash. I’ve been in Space NK many times and have always been curious about the By Terry beauty line, but a little overwhelmed where to start when choosing the right products for me.
By Terry have been promoting their recent campaign ‘Expert fall/autumn 2017’ to help the indecisive customer like myself to be their own expert. By Terry are introducing and inviting their customers to the Expert Club. The club is a great way to perfect your makeup application technique and create looks that suit you and are wearable.
The first time I meet Lydia Elise Millen beauty, fashion Youtuber and blogger was at the Dina Tokio ‘Blogosphere Magazine Cover Reveal Party’ earlier this year. I first introduced myself by saying to Lydia “I recognise those red shoes!” referring to her MANOLO BLAHNIK Nadira red satin shoes. I watched her ‘I bought a lot of shoes’ video earlier and didn’t even realised it was Lydia at the event wearing them. We struck up a conversation from there.
It was good to see Lydia at the By Terry Masterclass as she has worked with By Terry and used their products for many years. I trust her opinion about the products I became more intrigued and wanted to try out the products in person.
The Event | Masterclass
After I was given a glass of champagne, I was escorted to the lower ground floor where a staged area of purple sofas, burning Diptique candles, pink roses and the By Terry Expert collection were on display.
After Lydia was introduced, she explained and talked through her favourite By Terry products, how she used them and what she recommended when trying By Terry for the first time.
There were opportunities to ask questions about the expert range and to pass the products around to try out and swatch. Also, there was a chance to create and shoot your own how-to tutorial video. The By Terry Artistry Team were there to assist with creating the best expert techniques and look for you.
Met the lovely photographer Michaela Tornaritis who was taking photos of the event, been an admirer of her photography and work.

It took a lot of self-control and discipline. I wanted to swatch the compact expert dual powder to see and feel the consistency. It was light matt and buttery to the touch. Comes in eight shades and possibly one to add to my Christmas wish list this year.
The packaging is purple and silver themed, dark classy and mysterious. For me even though the packing was light and compact, I felt and agree, that most of the emphasis was placed on the product quality.
I was hoping that there were more foundation and CC cream shades for darker skin tones. Hopefully, this will be introduced in the near future. So, playing it safe I opted for one of the new By Terry Rouge-Expert Click Sticks in the colour no.28 Pecan Nude. First reaction, lightweight slimline packaging and a wonderful fragrance. When applied, went on smoothly and evenly.
As we are approaching the cooler months I wanted to switch out my beloved Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector for a more hydrating formula. Another product I purchased was the Hyaluronic Hydra-Primer, hopefully, this will balance my oily combination skin, and hydrate under my foundation during the autumn and winter.
Reunited with this classy lady. Chatting with Lydia about By Terry products, red Manolo Blahnik shoes and my cat Bee.
By Terry and Space NK for organising this masterclass, I enjoyed the small and personal touch and felt welcomed. Like the new expert range, looking forward to using in the future.
Also to my fellow cat lover, Lydia Elise Millen who hosted and presented the By Terry Masterclass and Expert Campaign. Was great to meet with you once again.
Which By Terry product can’t you live without? Out of the expert range which product are you wanting to try out the most? Would love to know in the comments.
